June 28th #3

Cucumbers and melons in the New boxes, soon I will add some trellis for these to climb on.
This is my Elberta peach tree, third year since planting but first year with fruit.

June 28th continued.

These peppers are called Tiburon in the Greenhouse which are a type of Poblano, look closely and you can see the yardstick which is the same height as the peppers. These are the tallest peppers I've had in a garden and they have only been growing here a little over a month.
After butchering the grapes last year they recovered and I have a ton growing for the fall.
Blackberries and boysenberries turning from red to black. Yumm!!!
Winter Squash in new boxes.
Summer Squash in new boxes after about three weeks from seed.

June 28th

Some first tomatoes of the season.
Kale and Chard going crazy in the greenhouse.
Cucumber seedlings, plus peppers and eggplants going crazy in the background.
Peppers tomato and leek flowers in the Greenhouse.
Big cucumber seedlings, more peppers, and a tomato in the background, along with leek flowers and a dwarf navel orange tree.

June 26th

These are the Bees "Bearding" on the outside of a hive on a hot day. They will do this to stay cool. It is called bearding because they can create long chains of hanging bees that look like beards. Well if beards looked like giant masses of moving buzzing activity.

June 19th

Squash and Cucumber boxes about two weeks after seeds were planted.

June 8th

All these pictures of from inside the new Greenhouse. This first picture shows the area of most of my dark leafy greens: I have a couple varieties of Kale which survived the winter from last year even in a tore open exposed greenhouse area. Also there is chard, Okra, rosemary and lavender in this area.
The rest of the area in the greenhouse is mostly pepper plants and 4 tomato plants which are cherry varieties two are black cherry and two are called Michael Pollan which are a green variety named after the author. Peppers really really love the hot humid environment of the greenhouse.
the teepee shaped pipe structures are cucumber trellis there are cucumber seedlings planted in the orange rings at the bottom. Also in this greenhouse there are a few Leek plants, lots of lavender, Cilantro, Stevia, and Vietnamese coriander which is a cilantro flavored plant.

June 7th

These are both from top bar hives This is the shape and what a fully formed drawn top bar hive bee comb looks like.

May 22nd

These are my solution to a squash/Zucchini/cucumber/Mellon garden this year. These will keep the shape of a mound which squash and melons like. Plus they are all raised beds and they use less water, or rather they hold in moisture better. All plants were planted from seed in this set up. pictures are coming.

May 9th

This is my side garden the next day, ready for planting, this area is primarily my tomato growing powerhouse, however I also have several different Herbs over in this area including: Borage, Oregano, Lavender, Sage, Thyme, Sorrel, Arugula, Camomile, French lavender, Orange Mint, And Catnip.

May 8th

This is my side garden prior to doing much to it (much, because this is about 2 hours into cleaning it looked much worse)
This is a close up of some top bar hive bee comb with capped brood cells, there are babies growing in the yellow capped cells.

A few pics and garden updates
